Golf Courses
February 27, 2003
Dear Humalfa,
I have been a golf course Superintendent for approximately 21 years.
And I have never seen a product like Humalfa change soils so fast. I
had some fairways that were hardpan, due to compaction from golf
carts. I really could not get a good healthy stand of bermuda grass.
I've applied tons of Gypsum, and tried to break up the hardpan
fairways, also tried heavy aeration programs. Last February I applied
Humalfa to three fairways, at 3 tons per acre and you cannot believe
the growth, color and clippings that I had. My membership was so
pleased.
....
I will always use Humalfa in my program; I had low organic matter in my
front 9 greens. Now they seem to be getting the humas that they need.
This year I have already applied Humalfa to all my fairways, tees and
will apply to greens this spring.
Humalfa is the best soil amendment I have ever seen, it changes soil right now, and not down the road.

Dear Ken Miller,
SUBJECT: HUMALFA BENEFITS
Sugar Creek Canyon Golf Club has been open for play
since fall of 1999. We have bengrass greens and bermuda fairways,
tees and rough. The soil is a sand/silt "semi-loam" with low
water and nutrient holding capacity. Humalfa's humus product has
been a part of our program since grow-in. I feel the humus
aided in the grow-in by helping to retain water and nutrients, much
like peat would, but with the added benefit of providing its own
package of slow release nutrients. i observed a quick development
of runners and was pleased with the quick coverage.
...
I have used Humalfa's humus product for several years and it has become
a part of my program. There is usually a pile of it at my shop
year round.
Sincerely,
Dallas Litzenberger
Superintendent

Mr. Ken Miller:
Well, you were right, almost. "Humore" lived up to your sales
pitch, but also created beneficial results not anticipated from our
initial conversations. Per your recommendations, I incorporated
the "Humalfa" into my new azalea beds with the peat and followed up
with about an inch of top dress prior to mulching. These azaleas
had been transplanted and containerized throught the winter,
consequently I was worried about their health and the shock factor of
new surroundings.
Ken, I had zero loss and the plants never looked back. The plants
had great bloom set and the foliage a deeper green than other existing
plants around the course. Additionally, we tilled close to a 50%
rate into all annual and perennial beds, which allowed me to use less
synthetic fertilizer offsetting another expense. Many of the
members commented subsequently, that, "the flower beds have never
looked better here at Southern Hills". Granted, we used some
where between 6 and 800 tons of product on the golf course itself (I
always have an available supply) but I would not hesitate to purchase
by the bag if needed.
Thanks again,
Barry Hargrove

Bed amended Spring (two years ago) with Plant & Soil Builder. No other fertilizer has been used since.

Beds amended with Plant & Soil Builder
for 8 years. Notice no evidence of salt build-up or alkaline pH
chlorosis. Persistent use of Hu-more will not result in residual
salt build-up or a rise in soil pH.
"I applied Hu-More™ Turf Builder on
an area of my lawn where the grass was very thin and sparse.
After tilling it in slightly, I transplanted Bermuda to the area.
The Bermuda grass established better than I expected it would.
You could not tell where the poor grass has been. I believe the Hu-More™ Turf Builder is an outstanding product for topdressing or preparing sod beds and seedbeds.excellent, high quality product for the gardener to consider using."

"I used one bag of the Hu-More™ Mulch Master Plus in
a small area of a bed with very sandy soil in early June around newly
planted perennials and annuals. The transplanted plants grew very
well until the extremely hot weather produced scorch damage. The Hu-More™ Mulch Master Plus certainly
helped to hold the moisture in the soil. The plants were not
watered for ten days while I was in the hospital, and they
survived! I plan to add Hu-More™ to my remaining beds which have poor soil next season."

.."I used Hu-More™ Potting Soil Booster in
my houseplants and recognized the increased vigor and color.
Since they were growing so well, I did not experience any difficulty
with plant disease or insects."

..I have used Hu-More™ and the leading competitor side by side in construction of new lawns and color beds. Hu-More™ blows everything else away. My plant mortality is almost zero wherever I use Hu-More™.

.."Our herb garden looked sick in early June. Heavy
spring rains had leached out the nitrogen (which left the plants a pale
green) and weeds were coming on heavy. Following weed removal, Hu-More™ Mulch Master Plus was
applied to provide both a weed barrier and mulch and to provide
nutrients. From then on, weeds were a minimum and the plants
regained the color that was expected. Hu-More™ is an excellent, high quality product for the gardener to consider using."

.."I applied Hu-More™ Plant & Soil Builder this year in my raised beds, incorporating it with compost...I believe that the Hu-More™
products increased my plant yield and provided nutrients for beautiful
plants that grew well in spite of our less than desirable growing
conditions this spring."

Newspaper and Magazine Articles
..Hu-More
was such a success among horticulturists, that the product was selected
by a plant pathologist at Texas A&M University as part of a
research project. The project was researching a new fungal
disease that was affecting St. Augustine grass in lawns throughout the
South.
"This new fungal disease lives in the soil and attacks the
turf from the roots up," Miller said. "This was unusual
because a fungus usually acts from the top of the plant and moves
down. This fungus was difficult for homeowners to control because
once they would see its affect on their lawns, it was too late.
They would see brown patches in their lawn and water and fertilize it
even more, which would just feed the fungus." The researchers
wanted an organic product that would suppress the fungus and avoid
drenching the lawn with fungicides.
"The only organic product they found to control this
fungus in their test plots was Hu-More," Miller said. "They even
tested it in other sites and had the same results." Hu-More was
applied over the top of the existing lawn and the bacteria in the
compost attacked the fungus in the soil, which balanced the soil
problems. Then, the triacontanol in the alfalfa stimulated the
weak plants so they would re-grow their roots and sustain the grass
until the plant had a chance to regrow its green tops. Humalfa is
now marketing a special blend of Hu-More as "Nature's Prescription" a
natural product that can be used on turf with fungal disease damage in
order to stimulate recovery and regrowth.

..I want you to know that I am absolutely "sold" on your Hu-More™ products. I am mentioning them every chance I get when I speak to garden clubs...Hu-More™ performed
better than I even anticipated. My soil could be considered
"pampered," because I have worked for years to provide a good soil base
for growing flowers for show and pleasure. Even though my soil is
good, the positive results from using Hu-More™ were unmistakable this spring....thanks for producing such a great product!
